You and Edward stared at the dark-skinned man slowly approaching. Alphonse took a small step back.
You heart felt like it was going to jump out of your chest. You were very frightened, but knew you had to be courageous to catch the mass murderer slowly approaching you and the Elric brothers.
Edward was shaking slightly in front of you. Scar stopped about five feet in front of Edward.
“So,” Scar said, his tone of voice sending shivers down your spine. “You are going to try and catch me again?”
“Damn right!!!” Edward yelled angrily. He dashed at Scar, clapping his hands together. He stopped and bent down in front of Scar, touching his hands to the ground.
Large pillars of rock headed for Scar, but he dodged them all, landing on the ground after the attack.
You nodded to Al. You knew it was your time to fight.
You dashed past Scar who was currently in combat with Edward. You leapt onto the first stone pillar that Edward had transmuted.
“Hey Scar,” you called to him. Scar paused his fight with Edward, both of them staring at you.
“(F/n) (l/n),” Scar muttered darkly. “The Dragon Alchemist.”
“HEY!” you called again. “Cause of you, we have to be out here. Thing is, I like making my OWN decisions!!”
With saying that, you jumped into the air. As you were drifting back down, you prepared to kick Scar in the head with your left foot.
Just as your foot was about to make contact with his head, Scar dodged to your right. You landed with your hands on the ground, your body in a squatting position.
When Scar had dodged your attack, Edward had transmuted his auto-mail arm into a blade. He slashed at Scar’s chest, but Scar dodged Edward’s attack once again.
Al got into a fighting position as Scar and Edward approached him. Edward suddenly did a back flip, (A/N: Writer: I’m not the only one who gets really turned on when he does a back flip, right? RIGHT?) drawing away from Scar. You stood up and walked over to Edward.
Al was currently throwing kicks and punches at Scar. Scar dodged every one of Al’s attacks, as Al dodged every one of Scar’s attacks.
You clapped your hands together and held them out into the humid air. You managed to get a hold of some energy and released it from your auto-mail hands.
Red sparks of light headed towards Scar, but he dodged the attacks, and somehow managing to dodge Al’s punch. That was the first time you used alchemy in front of the Elric brothers, as they hadn’t known you could use alchemy without a transmutation circle. Not until now.
Edward was behind you, and he was shocked all right. But now wasn’t the time. There was a mass-murderer you had to worry about.
Edward came out from behind you, dashing at Scar. Edward clapped his hands and placed them on the wall. Stone pillars shot at Scar, but he avoided them. The stone smashed into the building at the other side of the alley.
You jumped on one of the pillars and clapped your hands. Red sparks headed for Scar, but he dodged to your left and destroyed the pillar you were standing on. You realized after the fact that you were falling, straight on your back.
But rather than hard stone hitting your back, you felt something caressing you. It felt warm and comforting.
Edward had caught you.
You blushed madly as he set you down, jumping over the rubble as he dashed at Scar.
Your heart was beating fast and you were blushing immensely. But it isn’t the time for that! You though angrily.
You too dashed at Scar, aiming for his feet. Edward was going for his upper body as Alphonse tried to hit Scar with stone pillars he transmuted.
You eventually felt your auto-mail get kinky from so much movement. It felt very loose. This battle had to end. Fast.
Before you could make any other movement, you felt heat hit your face. Outside the way which Edward entered the alley, there were orange flames swaying in the air. You figured this was Roy Mustang’s fire alchemy.
Edward had moved so that he was facing the direction of the fire. You decided to move as well, your feet going over the rubble.
You, Edward, and Al drove Scar to the direction of the fire outside the alley.
Eventually, the three of you drove Scar into the streets.
Many of the people you had met yesterday were there. You and the Elric brothers moved past where Roy and Scar were fighting. Havoc led you to an automobile to take you back to Eastern Headquarters.
When you had arrived, you felt a pain. You glided your hand over where it hurt on your neck. There seemed to be a fairly deep cut in your neck that ran along the right side.
You also happened to notice that there was a gash on Edward’s right side of his forehead.
And you remembered that he had caught you. His warm hands caressing you, as if he were an angel…
You felt your face growing hot as you were led into Eastern Headquarters. You, Edward, and Alphonse were led to a library to look in while you waited for the Colonel and the others to get back.
You sat in front of a bookshelf, a couple thick books to your right; you were going to look at them after you had thoroughly explored the book you were currently reading. Edward was to your right a few feet away. He sat on the ground, also looking through a book. Many thick books surrounded him. You recalled Al saying he was going to the other side of the library to see what they had.
You glanced at Edward many times. He looked so cute when he was so focused into his book…
Edward looked up to find you staring at him.
Quickly, you looked back down at your book, blushing. You could still feel his eyes on you.
“Is something wrong?” he asked casually. There was a long pause. You looked up to see him blushing. “Y-you…” he stammered. “You were staring at me, so…..”
You felt your face get redder. “No…” you trailed off, trying to find an excuse. “I-I just noticed you had a gash on your forehead.”
He blinked and ran his auto-mail hand over the cut. He gave you a toothy (A/N: Writer: *coughadorablecough*) smile.
“Yeah, well…” he trailed off. “You seem to have a cut yourself.”
You nodded.
“I think I got this gash when Scar destroyed the stone pillar you were standing on,” Edward said. He gave you a sly smile, resting his chin on his hand. “But I never got a thank you for technically saving your life.”
Now that you thought about it, he had saved your life. You gave him a sympathetic look as you walked over to him. You stopped and knelt down, looking into his golden eyes that seemed brighter than the sun (A/N: Writer: That’s hot.).
You put your hands on his shoulders. A blush was forming on his face.
“Thank you,” you said, putting all of your heart into those words. “Edward.”
Edward looked away and patted you on the head. He nodded, his head still turned.
You got up slowly and went back to reading your book. Soon afterwards, Al had returned.
“Brother! (y/n)!” Al called from the other end of the bookcase. You and Edward looked up from the books you were reading, turning your attention to Alphonse.
“Lieutenant Ross just stopped by,” Al said. “She said the Colonel and the others are back.”

Time Skip

Soon enough, you and the Elric brothers were once again in Colonel Mustang’s office.
Mustang and many other military dogs that had come along with him to fight Scar were also in the room.
From the look of it, Scar seemed to escape. Again.
Mustang spoke up. “In case you haven’t noticed,” he began. “We didn’t catch Scar. It seems he escaped using the sewer system under the street. The area is currently blocked off for inspection and further investigation.”
Great, you thought coldly. We went through all that for nothing.
“Anything else, Colonel?” Alphonse asked the Colonel. “I think Brother needs some repairs.”
Mustang sighed. “No,” he replied. “You are dismissed. Thanks for your time.”
With that, you and the Elric brothers exited the busy office.
While walking down the hall, Edward spoke up. “(y/n),” he said quietly. You turned to him as you walked. “How…how can you transmute without a transmutation circle?”
You let out a sigh. “I’ll tell you on the train,” you replied smoothly. “Okay?”
“Wait,” Al butted in. “You’re coming with us? To Rush Valley?”
You nodded. “My mechanic lives in Rush Valley. I need a couple repairs.” You paused, smirking at Edward. “You don’t mind, do you?”
Edward blinked softly. A light blush tinted his cheeks. He let out a loud sigh. “Yeah,” he replied emotionlessly, his eyes now facing forward. “Whatever.”
You let out a small giggle as the three of you walked down the hall, heading to the hotel.

Time Skip

As soon as you and the Brothers had gotten your things and checked out of the hotel, you headed to the train station.
You and Alphonse sat on the bench as Edward purchased the tickets to board the train.
Edward came back to the bench where you and Al sat, three tickets in his left hand. After giving one of the tickets to Al, Edward gave one to you, the last one for himself.
“So (y/n),” Al said. You turned to him as Edward sat down to your right. “Have you ever been to Rush Valley?”
You shook your head. “I haven’t seen my mechanic in years,” you replied, facing Alphonse. “The last time I saw him was three years ago, the previous time I had to get repairs. He was still in Dublith by that time. I had received word that he had gone to Rush Valley.”
Edward let out a chuckle. “Yeah,” he said sarcastically. “Just don’t be surprised when crazy mechanic freaks crowd around you, asking to take a look at your auto-mail.”
Alphonse turned towards his brother. “You know,” Alphonse said matter-of-factly. “Just because that kind of stuff happened to you doesn’t mean it will happen to other people.”
“Stuff?” you asked Edward. “What happened?”
Edward’s eyebrow twitched. Alphonse tapped your shoulder. You turned to face the younger brother.
“Some people wanted to see Brother’s auto-mail,” Al explained. “So they took off all his clothes except his underwear in the street… (A/N: Writer: I’m trying to imagine all the fangirls screaming right now.)”
Ed became furious. “DAMMIT AL!” he yelled. “DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO TELL HER THAT?!” Edward’s face was red with embarrassment.
“Calm down, Brother,” Alphonse replied to his older brother’s outburst. “She’s trustworthy.”
Edward narrowed his eyes at you. After a while, he looked over to Alphonse.
“You sure?” Edward asked. With that, you clenched your left hand into a fist and bopped Edward on the head.
“OW!!” he yelled. “THAT HURT LIKE HELL!!”
“It was supposed to!” you retorted. “You said I’m not trustworthy!”
“Yeah, cause you’re so damn crazy!!”
“WHO’S CRAZY, PIPSQUEAK?!”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL HE CAN BE MISTAKEN FOR A FLEA?!?!”
“YOU, DAMMIT!!”
And the fight proceeded with a sissy fight. After a couple minutes, a bell rang, indicating that your train was about to leave.
The three of you got up, handed your tickets to the conductor, and took a seat on the train. You sat by the window, Edward to your left, Alphonse across from you.
You had the feeling that it may take a while until you reached Rush Valley.
